Texas Workers’ Comp Requirements on Jan 1
Effective January 1, 2013 Texas employers or those companies that have Texas employees will need to notify their employees if they carrier workers’ compensation insurance. If companies offer work comp your carrier should provide you the information necessary to be compliant.
Employers are required to provide written notice of coverage to new employees upon hire. The notice must inform employees of their right to reject workers’ compensation and retain retain their common law right of action. Additionally, the written notice must be posted at their workplace.
